Raymor began its life as the Richards-Morganthau Company—an importer and distributor of modern decorative arts. Their long history of bringing affordable modernism to the public is outstanding. You can credit Raymor with Russel Wright's ever-popular American Modern line of dinnerware, which is one of my all-time favorites. In the 60's and 70's, Raymor was a powerhouse distributor of Italian art pottery, of which this is a fine example. Because of their Chicago showroom and large variety of products, examples of their wares show up often in the midwest.
