05-068. Michael Lax
Raymor Capri Cake plate
Hyalyn Porcelain, Inc.
USA, 1953
11.25 x 11.25 x 4.5"
Glazed ceramic & walnut
Unsigned

This cake plate is an undocumented piece from the Raymor Capri line. We know most of the catalog numbers for these pieces, but the cake plate number is yet to be found in documentation. Because most of Hyalyn's ceramic molds for the Raymor Capri shapes had a mold mark in the bottom, it would be possible to figure this enigma out—but it would require damaging a prefectly nice serving piece!

Found on June 11, 2005 in Saint Paul, MN.

scott said: I've seen plenty of the Lax designs for Copco before, Paula, but unfortunately have not paid any attention to prices. I think the best you can do to try and establish their value at this point would be to start browsing eBay. Sorry I can't be more help than that.
