05-084. Ben Seibel
S-Ware 4077-S vase
Haeger
USA, c. 1970
4.75 x 4.75 x 9.5"
Painted ceramic
Manufacturer's mark

Not much new has been learned in the past few months (since I last found an S-ware piece) about Ben Seibel's work for Haeger, unfortunately. Like other "S" marked pieces, this vase has a few interesting Seibel-isms. My first reaction was to its similarity to some of Seibel's shapes for the Fostoria Pebble Beach line, which presumably was produced right around when this piece was. An interesting coincidence, at the very least. It will be a great day when documentation is finally located. Until then, the Seibel name will remain an attribution only.

Found on July 14, 2005 in Richfield, MN.
