05-097. Jens Quistgaard
Pepper mill
Dansk Designs
USA, c. 1960
2.75 x 3.5 x 5.5"
Teak
Manufacturer's mark and designer's initials.

Jens Quistgaard's pepper mills are in my opinion his most memorable shapes, and are quite possibly the most cutting edge mass produced grinders ever available to the public. The influences that seemingly inspired these designs are incredibally diverse: flying saucers, Asian pagodas, fruit and vegetable shapes, and beyond. I've never seen another line of pepper grinders that comes close to the imaginative shapes Quistgaard was so well known for.

Found on August 20, 2005 in Richfield, MN.
