05-136. Yusuke Aida
Trigger pitcher
Bennington Potters
USA, c. 1960
Glazed ceramic
Signed with manufacturer's mark

While Bennington Potters "Trigger" mugs show up with relative frequency, this is the first pitcher in the pattern I've seen outside a book. Most likely a collaborative design between Yusuke Aida and Bennington Potters founder David Gil, the "Trigger" line is quite distinctive. Many designs from this company won prestigious Good Design awards from the Museum of Modern Art in the mid 20th century, and I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of the winners.

Left in situ on December 02, 2005 in Hopkins, MN.
