Manufacturer's mark

Unlike many other in-house Chase designers, Howard Reichenbach secured over a dozen patents for his work, including one for the Gaiety shape. At the outset of prohibition, barware became exceedingly popular, and Chase met the demand for the modern barware market. The sheer architectural quality of Reichenbach's Gaiety line shows a holding-on to the art deco styles of the 20's and 30's. Gaiety also shows its deco "stripes" in its following of "the rule of three": three embossed steps on the lid, and a set of three colored bands circling the bottom of shaker. These details are all dead giveaways of classic art deco design.

Unfortunately the example I found today is in relatively rough shape. Hopefully it will clean up. It seems to me that the tarnish can be removed, and I probably can at least partially push out the large dent on one side of the shaker. Now only if I can get the lid off ...
