06-019. Eva Zeisel
Stockholm lowball tumblers
Federal Glass
USA, c. 1960
Glass
Unsigned

I rarely see Eva Zeisel's Stockholm glassware. Conversely, it seems I cannot turn a corner in a junk shop lately without seeing her Prestige line. Today, however, I came across pairs of Stockholm tumblers in two different stores, so I figured fate was telling me that they were at least worth a mention. I think that if I had room for another glassware line I'd consider Stockholm as a contender for that cupboard space. It has a unique Scandinavian look that is atypical in Zeisel's oevre, but still has the strength and power in its presence that—coupled with its relative scarcity—would make it an interesting line to start collecting.

Left in situ on February 28, 2006 in New Hope, MN.
