I almost passed up this piece, and even went as far as to photograph it with my camera phone before wandering around the rest of the store looking for treasures. Something made me change my mind, though.

The main issue at play was Ernest Sohn's important part in mid-twentieth century decorative arts, and the surprising lack of information available about his career. This display piece, for example, is a significant design. It is physically imposing, yet graceful. Hopefully one day we will better understand Sohn's contributions to the look of midcentury modernism. Until then, I'd be happy to hear what you have to say about his work in general, as well as this piece specifically.

Found on March 15, 2006 in St. Paul, MN.

There you will find contacts there that will help you with your search about Ernest Sohn. Also, I have pix from the convention. If you will send me you email address I will send you an AOL slideshow with pix of many of Ernest Sohn's designs.
