06-029. Russel Wright
Residential saucers
Northern Industrial Chemical
USA, 1953
6 x 6 x 0.75"
Melamine
Signed on bottom with the manufacturer's mark and facsimile signature

I have no idea why I actually bought these saucers. I already have dozens of others, and my cupboards are dangerously close to bursting. Residential, however, happens to be one of my favorite Wright lines. It is beautifully designed, with graceful lines, stunning colors, an interesting use of material, and is still under-appreciated and undervalued. I'll keep buying every piece I see in the junk stores, because if I can't have a huge collection of American Modern or even Casual China, my collection of Russel Wright plastic can still be fairly well filled out.

Found on March 22, 2006 in Bloomington, MN.
