This is an exceptionally off example of the American Modern teapot. It looks like the person at the factory who was in charge of glazing was having a bad day. Not only is it unevenly applied, but is very gloppy in some areas. Even with the bad glaze plus the missing lid, I decided to purchase it. The teapot is one of my favorite American Modern and Russel Wright in general shapes. My collection of teapots sits lined up in a china cabinet, and always reminds of elephants at a watering hole.
Now if only someone has a spare lid. Please drop me a note if you do.
