Not long ago, I sent an message to a few fellow collectors via an online message board concerning their recommendations for interesting and inexpensive midcentury modern planters. I have long been interested in the work of David Gil, Gordon Martz, Glidden Parker, et. al., but in most cases their flower pots are simply too expensive to use for their intended purpose.
One collector voiced his preference for Zanesville Stoneage Modern, which up until this recommendation I had never heard of. It turns out I had long been admiring this exceedingly accessible and affordable line of pottery, but simply hadn't had a name to put to its "face." So today as I scoured my normal haunts, I came across this nice little example, and for under a dollar added it to my collection. Now I simply need to find a plant to put in it. Any recommendations?
