06-053. Russel Wright
American Modern platter and gravy boat
Steubenville Pottery
USA, 1939
9 x 13.5 x 1" (serving platter)
4 x 10.5 x 2.5" (gravy boat)
Glazed ceramic
Manufacturer's mark and facsimile signature

it is rare I feel remorse for a Russel Wright purchase, but I feel quite guilty for buying this American Modern serving platter and gravy boat. While they were priced reasonably well and their condition is immaculate, I am in the process of downsizing my collection and adding new pieces to my cupboards is exactly opposite of what I need to be doing. I talked myself into the purchase with the knowledge that these are very useable pieces, and won't just sit on a shelf gathering dust. At least that is what I hope.

Found on July 12, 2006 in Richfield, MN.
