Just moments before finding this carafe, I was in a vintage modern store ogling a showcase of Gordon Martz pottery, thinking of how after as many years I've hunted in Minneapolis I've only ever found two pieces on my own. After browsing a bit I became inspired to hunt (as often happens), and I headed of on an unplanned trip to the Goodwill where I found this piece.
As I've mentioned before, I'm preparing for a move to Illinois. It turns out my new home town (where I found this carafe) is less than 60 miles from the original studio of Jane and Gordon Martz and their company, Marshall Studios. Hopefully this means that many more Martz studio pieces are in my future!
