Starting off the new year by adding a new designer to the roster here is hopefully a sign of good things to come for 2007. I've long admired Richard Neutra for his work in typography, so this volume is very welcome in my library. Survival Through Design is a seminal design text, and had been reprinted many times ... this being the second hardcover edition, although many paperback volumes have since been reissued.

After I returned home from the thrift store this afternoon, I started looking through the book, as I normally do, and noticed another small "score" inside. The bookmark left in place (seemingly for many years) is a typewritten slip of paper containing a list of six Frank Lloyd Wright houses on the Madison Wisconsin area. So in addition to having some new, highly important, reading material, I also have a built-in field trip!

I wish you all a happy, productive, and successful new year! Find some cool stuff, and tell me all about it!
