This morning Kate and I went to the best garage sale I think I've ever been to. It was advertised in the local want ads as having "vintage" stuff, which normally means a whole lot of junk. In this case, however, it meant what it said! Tons and tons of stuff from the 1040's through the 1970's, literally filling the house's porch, garage, and driveway. Nirvana for the collector of midcentury modern decorative arts (at least if you ask me).

Lately we've been trying to build up our collection of larger Stoneage Modern planters so we can use them in an outdoor container garden. We've found lots of small pots, but the larger variety has been hard to come by — especially in white, which happens to be our color of choice for the garden. When I saw this one sitting there on a shelf in the porch I immediately grabbed it.

The best part about the sale, however, was one short line at the end of the advertisement in the newspaper. It stated that this weekend was the preview sale of an even larger assortment of goodies to come out next week! You can bet where I'll be the second that sale opens next weekend!
