The garage and estate sale season has officially started, and this morning Kate and I planned to hit a big church rummage sale before getting on with our other assorted weekend chores. As we ate breakfast, however, I came across the advertisement in the classifieds section for the sale we were going to attend. It read "Annual children's' clothing sale." We decided to forego the drive, but another ad caught my eye.
It read "Packed house w/ teak dining table ... R. Wright ... " We decided this might be the better way to start off our day. Unfortunately the selection of Russel Wright wares was lean, but we did find this excellent white water pitcher. While we have focused our collecting on Casual China and are planning a deaccessioning of our American Modern, I just couldn't pass this little gem up. Sure, I paid a bit more than I would have in a thrift store, but it was definitely less than the current prices eBay has been realizing ... which have pretty much bottomed out. In any case, it was a fun way to start a Saturday morning and it inspired me to ignore my chores and do a little more thrifting. What are weekend for, anyhow?
Brad commented: I consider this a good find. I never see these here in Florida. Not even the Oneida reissues.
Josef Suter commented: Would like to buy white Russel Wright white pitcher. Let me know price. Thanks, Josef Suter,

Scott commented: Sorry Josef, but everything on the site is from my personal collection and is not for sale.
Dawn commented: It's classic and gorgeous. I have this in grey, along with the platter and two bowls that go with it. The white is the perfect color--goes with everything. Congrats on your find!
