I wonder why I find such a disproportionate number of Casual China creamers to sugar bowls? Not that I'm complaining, but it seems like for every 3 creamers, I find a single sugar ... which seems odd. I guess I'l chalk it up to the sugar bowls, being on the bottom of the stackable set, we chipped or damaged more often. But really it is a mystery to me.

Today marked my first thrift store trip in over a week due to illness, and it seems like the thrift gods welcomed me with open arms. Along with the creamer, I picked up a Vera Neumann scarf (it's under the creamer, but didn't really have a desire to feature it in its own post), and passed up several Zanesville Stoneage Modern planters because they were small. I might rethink that decision this weekend, but it isn't a big deal either way. In any case, it was a pretty great outing!

I wish you all happy and fruitful thrifting this weekend. Find some awesome stuff out there!

Kevin commented: Great finds. Interesting that you found the creamer today. A friend of mine who lives in the CU area found the nutmeg sugar bowl at a local Champaign thrift last week. Wonder if the two pieces were originally a set and got split up during the sorting process?

Scott commented: Wow ... I'll bet they are the matching set. Do you know the specific shop they found it at? This piece came from the Habitat for Humanity Restore. Small world!

william commented: Scott- my friend kevin has recently introduced me to your site and it was very interesting today to get a call from him telling me all about the matching creamer....as i to found the sugar at the habitat store. it is a small world after all.

Scott commented: Hello William! Glad you found the site. It is a small world, indeed. Do you collect Casual China? We've been collecting it for the past decade or so, and use it as our every day dishes.
