Joel Myers
(1934- )

Joel Philip Myers' esteemed career in industrial design began shortly after his graduation from the Parsons School of Design in 1954 with honors in the Department of Advertising Design. He began his professional career as a designer for Donald Deskey, which he left to continue schooling in Copenhagen, Denmark and then later in the ceramics program at Alfred University, where he graduated in 1962.

The following year, Myers began work at The Blenko Glass Company, following in the footsteps of both Wayne Husted and Winslow Anderson. His seven year tenure at Blenko was filled with over 400 unique designs for the company.

After leaving Blenko in 1970, Myers founded the glass program in the art department of Illinois State University in Normal, IL. He continues to exhibit his fine art glass sculptures today.
