Covering Paul Rand01.22.08
Lately I've been obsessing over Paul Rand's book jacket designs. I've long been fan of his work, but this recent pique in my interest is due to a video podcast lecture by Steven Heller briefly covering the topic. Rand is best known for his collaged images, stripes, and handwritten script lettering ... all of which play a heavy role in his book covers. Hopefully soon you'll start to see some of Rand's work over there in the right column, as I've set my mind to trying to gather up a small collection of his early graphic design.
