I'm gearing up to hit a big used book sale after work today, and have vintage graphic design on the brain. One midcentury designer that hasn't gotten his fair share of exposure on Ars Longa ... yet ... is Erik Nitsche. Rather than try to do justice to this amazing designer's work in words, I think I'd be doing a better service just to point you to The Erik Nitsche Archive, a Flickr-based project by Katie Varrati and Derrick Schultz (aka Bustbright). I believe you should be able to get your fill of eye candy there this weekend. Wow!
Derrick Schultz commented: Thanks Scott! I wish we had the same energy you have in all of your collecting efforts, otherwise there would be a lot more up on the flickr site. Sadly most of it just sits here in boxes for the time being while we wait for some extra downtime.
and, ahem...its Erik :)
Scott commented: Dang. At least I got it right in the title. Thanks, Derrick. I corrected my typo.
Barry A. Smith commented: Thanks Scott. I have been slowly growing my Nitsche collection. The Bustbright effort is mind-boggling.
